Operation Glass Maw

Active Classified Mobilization

“Beneath the glassed sands, something remembers.”

Operation Overview

Operation Glass Maw is a classified deep-field deployment initiated by InterSleuths following increased anomalous radiation readings and seismic disturbances across an irradiated wasteland formerly designated as a terraforming failure zone.

Reports gathered from local chart-runners and recovered black-box distress signals indicate the presence of a subterranean apex lifeform known as the Valikkar.

The entity is believed to be a leviathan-class sand worm mutated through prolonged exposure to residual terraforming isotopes and illegal radiation dumping.

Mission Objective

Locate, track, and eliminate the Valikkar before its territorial radius breaches neighboring settlements and fringe research outposts.

Intelligence indicates that the creature’s burrowing pattern is approaching ancient vault zones rumored to contain unstable pre-Collapse UEE technology.

Entity Classification: Valikkar
Designation
Bio-Anomalous Leviathan — Xenoform-17b “Valikkar”
Status
Radiated Burrowing Apex Predator
Estimated Size
More than 150 meters in length
Observed Behavior
Tectonic burrower responsive to sound, electromagnetic pulses, and surface vibration
Mutation Profile

Internal biofusion pockets emit sufficient radiation to scorch and vitrify surrounding sand. The resulting formations have become known as glass tunnels, providing the operation with its designation.

The Glass Maw Protocol

The InterSleuths Rapid Reaction Cell was dispatched under full radiation-containment protocols with seismic-mapping drones and strike-capable planetary drop craft.

The creature’s neural structure appears to contain radiation-sensitive bone latticework, rendering conventional electromagnetic-guided weapons unreliable.

Initial contact occurred during Phase One subsurface drone surveillance. What followed was a catastrophic loss of signal and a kinetic detonation within Quadrant Echo-3.

All deployed personnel remain presumed lost.

The entity did not attack out of defense, but out of recollection. This was not hunger. This was a response to something buried.

Current Operational Status

Operation Glass Maw remains active and classified.

Teams rotate through the operation under radiation-containment, psi-warding, neural-screening, and decontamination protocols. Every approach into the dunes risks awakening what local inhabitants now call the Ancestor Below.

The Valikkar may be more than a predatory lifeform. Current analysis suggests that it could represent a biological archive, a radiated echo of the Collapse, or the unintended guardian of something buried beneath the glassed sands.

Last Transmission — Pathfinder Carrow

“It stared up from the pit. But not at me… through me. Like it had seen us before. Like we were a memory it could taste.”

Return Protocols

All agents participating in Operation Glass Maw are required to undergo neural-echo screening, temporal-dissociation testing, and full radiological decontamination upon return.

The dunes are not merely irradiated. They are haunted by what time forgot.
