InterSleuths Gaming Community Code of Conduct

InterSleuths is a good-faith gaming community built around respect, maturity, teamwork, and shared enjoyment of the games and spaces we participate in together.

This Code applies across all InterSleuths spaces, including Discord, the community website, forums, voice channels, game servers, events, private messages related to the community, and any official InterSleuths platform.

By participating in InterSleuths, you agree to conduct yourself in a way that helps maintain a respectful, enjoyable, and well-run community.

1. Good-Faith Participation

InterSleuths expects all members to participate in good faith.

Good-faith participation means being honest, respectful, and constructive. It means handling disagreements maturely, assuming reasonable intent when appropriate, and working toward resolution instead of conflict.

Bad-faith behavior is not tolerated. This includes baiting arguments, twisting situations, provoking others, spreading rumors, weaponizing rules, manipulating staff, concern-trolling, dogpiling, harassing people through technicalities, or repeatedly creating problems while claiming innocence.

InterSleuths has a zero-tolerance policy for toxicity and bad-faith behavior. This does not mean every mistake results in an immediate ban. It means staff are not required to endlessly tolerate patterns of hostility, manipulation, harassment, disruption, disrespect, or drama.

If your goal is to participate, cooperate, and help keep the community enjoyable, you are welcome here. If your goal is to provoke, divide, exhaust, or undermine the community, this is not the place for you.

2. Respect Other Members

Treat all members with respect. Disagreements are allowed. Harassment is not.

Do not insult, threaten, stalk, bully, mock, shame, or intentionally target other members. Personal attacks, repeated provocation, hostile behavior, or attempts to humiliate others will not be tolerated.

Harassment, targeted abuse, degrading comments, or discriminatory behavior are not allowed.

3. Keep the Community Mature

InterSleuths is a gaming community, not a public argument arena.

Jokes, banter, sarcasm, and strong opinions are part of online gaming, but members are expected to know when something crosses the line. Do not create drama, bait fights, stir conflict, or turn private issues into public battles.

If there is a problem, bring it to staff or an officer calmly instead of escalating it in chat, voice, forums, game servers, or private messages.

4. No Politics or Real-World Religious Debates

Political arguments and real-world religious debates are not allowed in InterSleuths Gaming community spaces.

These topics can quickly create tension, division, and unnecessary conflict. This community exists to provide a fun, entertaining, and cooperative gaming space. Members may have private conversations about these subjects elsewhere if all involved are willing, but they should not be brought into public community channels, forums, voice rooms, or events.

5. No Threats, Doxxing, or Real-World Harm

Threats of violence, doxxing, swatting, blackmail, stalking, or attempts to expose someone’s private information are strictly forbidden.

Do not share another person’s address, workplace, phone number, private messages, photos, accounts, location, or personal details without clear permission.

This rule applies even if you are angry, joking, or believe the person “deserves it.”

6. No Spam, Flooding, or Disruptive Behavior

Do not spam, flood chat, repeatedly post the same message, abuse mentions, or intentionally disrupt conversation.

Do not type in all caps to draw attention or dominate chat. Do not ping members or staff without a valid reason. Do not repeatedly switch voice channels, spam reactions, flood forums, or use any platform feature in a disruptive way.

7. No Advertising, Poaching, or Unapproved Promotion

Do not advertise, recruit, poach members, promote other communities, or send invites to outside spaces without explicit permission from staff.

This includes direct messaging members with invites to other servers, communities, groups, guilds, clans, or projects.

Self-promotion may be allowed only in approved spaces, such as a designated self-promo channel, and only for your own relevant videos, streams, content, or products. Referral links are not allowed unless staff gives explicit permission.

Poaching members from InterSleuths Gaming is disrespectful to the community and will result in immediate removal.

8. Appropriate Names and Identity

Use a name that members can reasonably identify you by. Do not use offensive, hateful, sexually explicit, impersonating, misleading, or intentionally random names.

Do not impersonate staff, officers, members, creators, developers, public figures, bots, or any other person or role.

Staff may require a name change if a username, nickname, avatar, or profile is inappropriate or disruptive.

9. Bots, Automation, and Platform Abuse

Do not invite bots, scripts, automation tools, or third-party services into InterSleuths spaces without staff approval.

Do not abuse platform features, exploit permissions, evade moderation tools, or attempt to bypass restrictions, mutes, bans, role limits, or access controls.

10. Fair Play and Exploits

Cheating, hacking, botting, exploiting, griefing, real-money trading, account theft, or intentionally harming the community’s reputation is not allowed.

Do not perform, encourage, teach, or promote the intentional use of glitches, hacks, bugs, exploits, or unfair advantages. If you find a bug or exploit, report it to staff instead of spreading or abusing it.

Follow the rules of the games, servers, events, and platforms we use. If a specific game or server has additional rules, those rules apply alongside this Code of Conduct.

11. Keep Content Appropriate

Do not post illegal content, NSFW content, explicit sexual content, gore, extremist material, malicious links, scams, malware, or content intended to shock, disturb, manipulate, or harm other members.

Staff will remove content they believe is inappropriate for the community, even if it is not specifically listed here.

12. Spoilers and Game Discovery

Do not post major spoilers without warning or permission.

InterSleuths values the sense of adventure, mystery, and discovery that comes from experiencing games and stories naturally. You may offer help, guidance, or advice, but do not ruin important discoveries, story moments, puzzle solutions, endings, boss mechanics, hidden content, or surprises for people who did not ask.

Spoilers will be removed by staff.

13. Voice Chat Conduct

Voice channels should remain respectful, usable, and comfortable for everyone.

Do not make annoying, loud, high-pitched, repeated, or intentionally disruptive noises. Reduce background noise whenever possible. Use push-to-talk if your microphone causes issues.

Do not voice-channel surf, repeatedly jump between channels, interrupt events, talk over leaders, or disrupt organized group activities.

Members may be removed from voice channels if their audio quality, background noise, or behavior negatively affects others.

14. Recording and Privacy

Do not record, stream, capture, or share audio, video, screenshots, private messages, or private conversations involving other members without clear consent.

This applies to voice chat, video chat, game sessions, private conversations, meetings, officer discussions, and community events.

Public events may have different expectations if recording or streaming is clearly announced in advance.

15. Respect Staff and Officer Decisions

Staff and officers are here to keep the community organized, fair, and functional. You do not have to agree with every decision, but you are expected to respect the process.

Do not argue with staff in public channels, harass staff over decisions, refuse reasonable directions, or attempt to rally members against moderation decisions.

If you believe a decision was unfair, contact staff privately and calmly. Staff will review situations as needed and may reach out to those involved before making a final decision.

Staff decisions are final.

16. Account and Membership Responsibility

You are responsible for your own account, behavior, and access. Claims that someone else used your account may not remove responsibility from you.

Keep your accounts secure. Do not share staff, officer, or privileged access with anyone else.

If you leave the InterSleuths Gaming community, your ranks, roles, and access will be removed. Reentry may require reopening or resubmitting an application, depending on the situation.

17. Enforcement

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in warnings, message removal, muted access, temporary restrictions, removal from events, loss of rank, suspension, or permanent removal from the community with or without warning.

Staff will consider context, severity, history, and intent when making decisions. Serious violations may result in immediate removal without warning.

Being part of InterSleuths is a privilege, not a right. The goal of enforcement is not to punish honest mistakes, but to protect the community from bad faith behavior and help to keep gaming toxicity free for everyone.

18. Subject to Change

This Code may be updated at any time as the community grows and new situations arise.

Members are responsible for staying familiar with the current rules and expectations.
